Changing our name to "Rise for Youth (RIFY)" from "Iridescent Learning for Youth (ILY)" along with remaking our website from scratch was a big change. This change also triggered some new ideas, like teaching students online.
We realized we could reach more schools, even outside the country, if we could tutor young students online through Skype, and a virtual whiteboard called iDroo. We could share our knowledge with youth all over the world, and give them additional help. Location would not matter anymore; it was a limiting factor for us.
Aside from helping with homework online, we intend to teach English to students in Korea, where English is one of the important subjects to learn. Many orphans and kids in Korea do not have access to sources where they can learn English, but if they go to a local library or use a public computer/their own, we can help them. This is not the only case possible; there are many different countries with students that can greatly benefit from this program.
A majority of the students in our club are bilingual or trilingual, so our team members are starting to reach out to non-profit organizations and schools in many countries that can partner with us. We have students reaching out to Pakistan, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and India as we speak. After more planning, we believe we will be able to start teaching students all over the world soon.
